One of the things I wanted to do with the kids this year was to build a gingerbread house. So I rounded up Nick and Aidan and told them all about what we were going to do. They were both very excited and eager to get going. Especially when they saw all the candy.
They started off with both decorating a gingerbread man and a Christmas tree.
Aidan and Nick were having fun putting all the candy on the house and then this is what happened. The roof started sliding down and no matter how much icing I put on it would not stay up.
The boys didn't seem to mind, they just kept on decorating.
Even though the gingerbread house ended up looking like this, the boys had fun. That's all that matters.

Christie, I love your blog! My mom just told me about it. Also, for next year, you should ask my sister for her gingerbread house frosting recipe. She makes houses every year and the frosting is really strong (but, sadly, not too tasty) =)
that is so weird Christie, we did the exact same gingerbread house and had no roof slipping problems. Maybe your frosting was too warm.
Anyway, it looks cute.
